Six ways to combat stretch marks and spider veins

Six Ways to Combat Stretch Marks and Spider Veins

Growth spurts, weight fluctuations, outdoor life, or it’s simply in your genes. Stretch marks and spider veins are concerns many of us will have to deal with. Even those who seem to have perfect bodies can not escape these imperfections. If they are affecting your confidence, check out these six ways to combat stretch marks and spider veins.

1. Self-Tan is Your Friend

When it comes to hiding stretch marks and spider veins, self-tanner is your best friend.  There are lots of great products out there to suit all budgets and help cover imperfections. It will also give you a gorgeous glow, a great confidence booster. Stretch marks become less noticeable and spider veins disappear as the colour disguises them.

2. Apply a yellow or peach concealer  to veins

Neutralise spider veins using a yellow or peach concealer. This works by hiding the purple and red tint. It’s also great for undereye circles.  Dot it on the skin and use a makeup blender to blend out.

3. Turn attention away and Improve stretch marks by toning up

For some, pregnancy is their first experience of stretch marks and it can be difficult to deal with these angry marks appearing. Even when we look at it as a badge of honour  -battle scars from pregnancy. This doesn’t stop us from feeling self-conscious about the change in our bodies. Finding time for regular exercise will help you to get back in shape and tone up those areas with stretch marks so they appear less visible.

4. Fight Stretch Marks With Microdermabrasion

If you can’t learn to live with them, SkinBase microdermabrasion is a proven treatment for stretch marks. Elasticity plays an important part in how stretch marks form. It is also an important factor in how we improve stretch marks using microdermabrasion. The crystals remove dead skin cells and help to blend and even out the skin tone in the area. The treatment stimulates new collagen and elastin production, vital for smooth, healthy skin. Discover more about microdermabrasion for stretch marks.

5. SkinBase IPL for Spider Veins

SkinBase IPL uses pulses of light to target skin concerns. A variety of filters are used to target; veins, pigmentation, acne, fine lines and wrinkles and so it can be very effective in the treatment of spider veins.

6. Embrace Your Imperfections

Do you know that other people probably won’t even notice your skin imperfections and they are likely to be much more noticeable to you than they are to anyone else. They may be your battle scars from pregnancy, or the weight gain or loss you experienced as a teen. Whatever the cause or reason, you shouldn’t feel ashamed. It’s of course okay to want to combat stretch marks and spider veins, but try not to get too down about them. Try to wear whatever makes you feel beautiful and instead of getting hung up on the negative, try to focus on the things you like about yourself.

Why do we get wrinkles?

Wrinkles. Wrinkles around the mouth, forehead wrinkles, wrinkles round the eye. Urgh. Wherever they are, all we know is that some (most!) women see them as the bane of their existence, and they actually go through all means they could possibly afford just to get those wrinkles off their faces, ranging from expensive creams to microdermabrasion, Botox or even surgery.

Our culture and society is so youth-oriented that wrinkles, especially on women, have become totally undesirable.

Why do we get them and how can we stop them?

SkinBase Focus: Acne & Acne Scarring

We talk a lot about the pure beautification benefits that the SkinBase facial can have on the likes of tired, dull and ageing skin, but it’s equally as important to note the benefits for more traumatic skin problems too.

Some of our proudest moments as skincare specialists have come following a course of treatments on someone who has had to suffer and cope with acne and acne scarring for most of their lives. We’ve had people come in for the SkinBase microdermabrasion treatments with deep scarring, low self esteem & confidence and leave after 6 – 8 sessions a completely different person.
